Website Myths & Answers
Myth #3 - As long as my website "looks nice," that's all that matters
If people can’t FIND your site it doesn’t matter how “nice” your website looks. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ensures your website shows up when potential clients search for goods or services. If you are not on the first results page (or second at the very least) chances are they will choose whoever the competition is on those first pages—even if they offer inferior products or services.
What you do on the back end ensures customers can find you online in the first place. Your website also needs to be optimized for the client experience once they DO find it. If any page on your website takes more than a few seconds to load clients will move on to the competition. Today, your website also needs to work across multiple platforms—computer, tablet, phone, etc. The majority of searches in 2016 were completed on mobile devices, not a desktop or laptop. Is your website optimized for mobile?
